Kampa led UIC in batting average (.366), slugging percentage (.747) and total bases (139), ranked second in home runs (18), and finished third in RBI (50) and on-base percentage (.425) by appearing in 50 games.
"For Ashton to be recognized, it speaks to the level of his love to compete," UIC head baseball coach Sean McDermott said. "When you are worried about winning, good things happen and Ashton is a prime example of that. He put up the numbers and getting recognized as a member of the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Midwest Second Team is pretty special."
During his career at B&SC, Kampa recorded .312 batting average, a .548 slugging percentage, hit 12 home runs and had 70 RBIs.
"Kampa hit two of the biggest home runs in the history of the program (against Black Hawk in the 2024 playoffs and this season a game-tying grand slam in the 9th vs Kankakee)," Bryant & Stratton head baseball coach Alex Tomter said. "Those are moments I’ll remember forever. But to me, the best part about his time here will be that he earned it all himself. He wasn’t a day one starter as a freshman, but when he got his chances, he delivered over and over."
