The Bryant & Stratton first baseman will be heading to Chicago to play for the Flames
MILWAUKEE — Bryant & Stratton College (WI) baseball first baseman Ashton Kampa has committed to UIC. He announced his decision on June 26.
"I chose UIC because the coaches made it clear they were fully committed to helping me become the best baseball player I can be," Kampa said. "[It was] an opportunity I truly couldn’t pass up."
The Muskego, WI., native is coming off his sophomore season, where he posted a .293 batting average, a .875 OPS, smacked seven home runs and drove in 45 runs.

"Kampa hit two of the biggest home runs in the history of the program (against Black Hawk in the 2024 playoffs and this season a game-tying grand slam in the 9th vs Kankakee)," Bryant & Stratton head baseball coach Alex Tomter said. "Those are moments I’ll remember forever. But to me, the best part about his time here will be that he earned it all himself. He wasn’t a day one starter as a freshman, but when he got his chances, he delivered over and over. I’m so excited to see what he does at UIC."
