WAUWATOSA, WI (February 7, 2019) - The Bryant & Stratton College women's basketball team earned their largest margin of victory of the season Wednesday evening after taking down Kishwaukee College on the road 82-40.
The win improved the Bobcats to 16-9 overall and 8-6 in region play.
Freshman guard Kiyanna Rodgers led all scorers with 17 points and 50% shooting from the field. Rodgers also tacked on four rebounds, two assists and one steal to her totals.
Sophomore forward Maddy McCoy produced 10 points and seven boards.
At the tip, all of the momentum was on Bryant & Stratton's side as they surged out to a 22-10 lead to end the first quarter.
"Getting off to a strong start is something we have been stressing all year long," Bobcats head coach Jeff Lorenz said. "We managed to increase our lead throughout the game which was good to see."
In the second quarter, the Bobcats went on a 17-9 run and held a 39-19 advantage at the break.
Throughout the second half, Bryant & Stratton continued to pile on the points while remaining solid on the defensive end of the floor and they held a 40 point lead with one minute remaining.
With the clock winding down, the comeback was out of reach for Kishwaukee and the Bobcats went on to earn their 16th win of the season.
"This win definitely helps us when it comes down to seeding for the playoffs," Lorenz said.
The Bobcats shot 41% from the field and 33.3% from long distance.
Bryant & Stratton will stay on the road as they travel to Escanaba, MI for a Saturday matchup against the Bay College Norse.
Tip-off will take place at 1:00pm.
The Bobcats defeated Bay College 62-56 at home in early January.
