Bobcats sweep Minnesota North-Itasca and Macomb
Head Softball Coach, Dean Herman, earns win No. 200
MELBOURNE, Fla. — Bryant & Stratton College (WI) softball used a massive second inning to power past Minnesota North College–Itasca 19–0 before defeating Macomb Community College 9–3 to complete a doubleheader sweep Wednesday afternoon.
Game 1: Bryant & Stratton College (WI) 19, Minnesota North College-Itasca 0
The Bobcats broke the opening game open with a 12-run second inning, sending the lineup around and capitalizing on timely hitting and defensive miscues. A solo home run by Olivia Fietz started the surge before Beaudin tripled home a run. Umentum added an RBI single, Foytik delivered a two-run double, Brooke Tennies doubled in another run, and Taetum Hoesly and Nevaeh Saringer each contributed RBI singles during the rally.
Bryant & Stratton jumped ahead early in the first inning when Fietz drove in a run with a single. Two additional runs scored on an error and RBI walks from Bella Umentum and Lily Fairfield.
The Bobcats added insurance in the third as Kylie Reed singled in a run and Umentum drew another bases-loaded walk.
Sarah Bystra dominated in the circle, allowing just one hit over five shutout innings while striking out eight.

Game 2: Bryant & Stratton College (WI) 9, Macomb 3
In game two, Tennies led the offense with three hits in four at-bats as Bryant & Stratton defeated Macomb Community College 9–3.
The Bobcats broke open a tight contest with six runs in the seventh inning. Gia Cobert drove in two runs on a groundout before Tennies singled home another. Sophia Santiago followed with a two-run single and Jayda Karls capped it with an RBI single.
Bryant & Stratton initially got on the board in the third inning when Fairfield drove in a run with a groundout.
Kylie Stark earned the win in the circle, allowing three runs (none earned) on six hits over six innings, while striking out one and walking three. Jazmine Karls closed the game with a scoreless inning in relief.
With this win, Head Softball Coach, Dean Herman, earned his 200th career win.

"Didn’t even know we hit 200," Herman said. "But reflecting on it, so many great players and coaches helped us along this journey. Thinking of that number, it shows the commitment of our players, the buy in to our program and the belief they have in us as coaches and our process. Day by day to get better and better."
