OGLESBY, Ill. - Bryant & Stratton College (WI) softball split a Friday doubleheader, rolling to an 8–0 shutout win over South Suburban College before falling 11–5 to IVCC Eagles.
Game 1: Bryant & Stratton College (WI) 8, South Suburban 0
The Bobcats opened the day in dominant fashion, powered by a monster performance from Olivia Fietz at the plate and a shutout effort from Kylie Stark in the circle. Fietz led the charge, blasting two home runs and driving in five runs. She got things started early with a two-run homer in the first inning, then added a three-run shot in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
The Bobcats jumped ahead in the first inning, with Jayda Karls adding an RBI triple and Julia Prochnow following with an RBI single to build a 4–0 lead.
Bryant & Stratton tacked on another run in the third before Fietz's second home run capped the scoring in the fourth.
Stark was efficient in the circle, allowing just four hits over five shutout innings.
Notes:
- Fietz and Tennies both had two hits
- Samantha Foytik drew three walks
- They turned the first triple in Bobcats history
Game 2: IVCC 11, Bryant & Stratton College (WI) 5
The momentum shifted in a pivotal second game when IVCC jumped out early. The Eagles plated four runs in the first inning and added three more in the second to build a 7–0 lead.
Bryant & Stratton battled back offensively, collecting 10 hits in the game, but couldn't fully close the gap.
Jazmine Karls took the loss in the circle, while Stark provided relief, tossing over four innings Chloe Teague also made an appearance.
Notes:
- Jenna Beaudin, Brooke Tennies and Gia Cobert all had multiple hits
