Bobcats roll past Scots
Beaudin and Foytik lead Bobcats to sixth straight victory
CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. — Bryant & Stratton College (WI) softball delivered a dominant all-around performance Sunday, rolling to a 20–0 run-rule victory over McHenry Scots.
The Bobcats erupted for 20 runs on 16 hits while the pitching staff turned in a shutout effort to cap a commanding win.
Bryant & Stratton wasted no time getting on the board, plating three runs in the first inning. Brooke Tennies opened the scoring with an RBI double before Samantha Foytik added a run. Jenna Beaudin capped the inning with an RBI single to give the Bobcats an early 3–0 advantage.
The offense broke the game open in the second inning, scoring six runs to extend the lead. After an error brought in a run, Beaudin delivered the highlight of the day with a three-run inside-the-park home run. Julia Prochnow later added an RBI double as the Bobcats continued to pile on.
Bryant & Stratton kept the pressure on in the fourth inning, scoring five runs behind RBI contributions from Bella Umentum and Olivia Fietz, along with bases-loaded walks drawn by Morgan Larsen and Tennies.
The Bobcats capped the scoring with six more runs in the fifth, highlighted by a three-run home run to right field from Foytik.
Beaudin led the offensive surge, going 3-for-4 with four RBIs, including the inside-the-park home run. Foytik matched the production with four RBIs of her own, while Tennies, Gia Cobert, Jayda Karls, and Prochnow each recorded multiple hits.
In the circle, Sarah Bystra was dominant, tossing a five-shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out seven.
