Fast start not enough as Bobcats fall to Grand Rapids
Bobcats drop opening round matchup in South Carolina
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Bryant & Stratton College (WI) battled throughout Tuesday's matchup with Grand Rapids Community College, but a five-run sixth inning by GRCC proved to be the difference in an 8-3 result.
The Bobcats struck first in the opening inning when Olivia Fietz connected on a solo home run to center field, giving B&SC an early 1-0 advantage.

Grand Rapids answered in the bottom of the third after a two-run homer but Bryant & Stratton responded immediately in the fourth inning, taking the lead back. Sam Foytik launched a solo shot to right field before Jayda Karls delivered an RBI single down the left field line to make it 3-2.

Grand Rapids tied the game later in the inning before breaking through in the sixth. The Raiders plated five runs on five hits, highlighted by a two-run double, to take control of the contest.
Kylie Stark started in the circle for Bryant & Stratton and worked five innings, recording four strikeouts.
