Bio

Brian Lief was named the Director of Cross Country/Track and Field in June of 2021 after serving as the Assistant Cross Country/Track and Field Coach and Recruiting Coordinator since May of 2019.

In his four years with the Bobcats, the men’s cross country team has sent at least two runners to the National Championships each year, with the men also qualifying as a team in 2019 and 2020. In 2019, Holly Tsosie represented the women’s cross country team in the National Championships as well. 

In track and field, which the Bobcats started in the spring of 2021, the Bobcats have sent ten men and five women to the NJCAA National Championships. Lief has coached five male All-Americans during his tenure, including Jaivon Harrison, the 2021 NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Champion in the High Jump. 

Lief comes to Bryant & Stratton after competing collegiately in cross country and track & field for four years at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio from 2015-19, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history. While at Wooster, Lief also worked in the athletic department and served on the leadership council for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)

Throughout his time at Wooster, Lief was a four-year letter winner in both cross country and track & field as well as a team captain his senior season. In 2018, Lief qualified individually for the NCAA DIII National Cross Country Championships.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Lief currently resides in Milwaukee, WI.
