MILWAUKEE — The Bryant & Stratton College (WI) men's basketball team took the floor for the first round of the NJCAA Region Midwest District A Tournament on Thursday night when it faced the No. 13-seeded McHenry County College Scots.
How it Happened: McHenry controlled the game for the first handful of minutes, jumping out to an eight-point lead at the 10:45 mark. But a jumper by Aaron Bickham sparked the Bobcats' offense and they ended the first half with a 26-23 lead.
Demajh Salisbery led all scorers with 10 points in the first half.
Coming out of the halftime break, the Bobcats and Scots battled back and forth with the Bobcats grabbing a six-point lead at one point and the Scots fighting back to grab a seven-point lead with just over 10 minutes to play. Bryant & Stratton hit two threes, one by Asher Haas and the other by Tayshaun Wallace, to quickly get back into the game.
From then on, it was all Bobcats who went on a 30-4 run to close out the game with a 65-46 victory.
Stats:
- Vontez Dent led the Bobcats with 18 points and added nine rebounds.
- Wallace added 13 points.
- Salisbery finished with 12 points.
