Charles Ruffing joins Western Illinois Leathernecks
Former Bryant & Stratton men's basketball coach makes move to D-I program
MILWAUKEE – Former Bryant & Stratton College (WI) head basketball coach Charles Ruffing will be leaving the program after two successful seasons and joining Western Illinois University as a men's basketball assistant.

This past season, Ruffing led the men’s basketball program to its first Region 4 title, first national tournament appearance and its highest national ranking at No. 11.

He also led the Bobcats to the most wins in a single season with 29 and was named the WBCA Junior College Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year.
Ruffing previously worked at Franklin College in Indiana under Kerry Prather, who racked up over 500 wins as the head basketball coach of the Grizzlies, spent four years as an assistant coach for Rockford University helping the program reach the NACC Tournament for the first time since 2012. Chuck took another job, this time at Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC), where he worked for current head basketball coach Aaron Aanonsen.
Ruffing also helped the West Bend East High School basketball program capture its first regional championship in 20 years and worked for Drake Diener at Marian University.
