Bryant and Stratton men's basketball 25-26 season preview
WAUWAUTOSA, Wis. — Bryant & Stratton College's men’s basketball captured its first-ever Region 4 Championship last season, made its first national tournament appearance and recorded the most wins in school history (29). Now under the direction of first-time head coach Kyle Hoffman, the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats are ready for another successful season.
“Pressure is a privilege,” Hoffman said. “It's a great opportunity to keep building on our past seasons. We have to keep meeting the standard each day and keep getting better.”
Helping the Bobcats move forward are players from last year's championship team: Matt Juergens, Karter Seawright, and Vontez Dent.
“Juergens was a key glue guy for our program last year,” Hoffman said. “I'm excited to see his work he put in this off-season pay off… Seawright is an all-region returner, one of the best shot blockers in the country, and looking to take a step forward on the offensive end and be a consistent offensive threat for us…Dent started a lot of games for us last year and the heart of our team had a big summer.”
While the Bobcats will have experience to fall back on, they also have some new additions that will look to add a spark this season.
Those new additions include Gor Ruey, “who can be one of the most versatile forwards in our region and is ready to show what he can do with a consistent role,” Hoffman said. “Demajh Salisbery, averaged double digits at his last juco, and I expect him to lead our team at the PG position, and Jaylen Murphy, a transfer from Toledo, is a key player for how we play on both ends of the floor. He’s an extremely hard worker and a guy that can really get us going on both ends of the floor when locked in.”
There’s a lot of excitement and anticipation for a new season to start and everyone associated with the team is ready to start competing.
“Expectations are high,” Hoffman said. “We have a good group of people; we have to keep taking steps forward to get to where we want to go by the end of the season. We have a lot of guys that lead by example. Everyone is working extremely hard to get on the same page and get themselves prepared for a well-played season and I'm excited to continue to work with them and build off of our success we have had here.”
