Bobcats sweep behind Roethle's no-hitter and explosive offense
Bobcats capture first winning season
OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — Bryant & Stratton Wisconsin turned in a complete performance on Sunday, sweeping the Carl Sandburg Chargers in a doubleheader with a 10–0 shutout in game one followed by a 12–2 victory in game two.
Game 1: Bryant & Stratton College (WI) 10, Carl Sandburg 0 (F/6)
Bryant & Stratton College opened the day with a statement performance, powered by a no-hit effort from Roethle and a flawless day at the plate from Hurtgen.
Eliot Roethle was dominant from the first pitch, striking out 12 batters, over six innings while allowing just two walks in a no-hit shutout.
Offensively, the Bobcats struck early. Macay Wagner brought in the first run with a sacrifice fly in the opening inning, and Charlie Dietz followed with an RBI groundout in the second to make it 2–0.
The game broke open in the fourth when B&SC plated five runs. Elery Hardwick launched a solo home run, Hurtgen delivered a two-run single, Wagner added an RBI knock, and Bradyn Nelson drove in a run after being hit by a pitch.
Jacob Hurtgen led the offense, going 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Nelson drove in three runs.
"The fastball was all around the zone, so that felt great," Roethle said. "They backed me up well and they made a bunch of [great] plays behind me."

Game 2: Bryant & Stratton College (WI) 12, Carl Sandburg 2 (F/5)
The Bobcats kept the momentum rolling in game two, erupting for eight runs in the second inning to take control early and cruise to the sweep.
After Carl Sandburg struck first in the opening inning, B&SC answered in a big way. Dietz drove in a run, an error plated another, and Nelson delivered the biggest blow with a three-run triple. Calvin Hurtgen added a sacrifice fly, and Hardwick capped the inning with a two-run home run to make it 8–1.
Carl Sandburg added a run in the second, but the Bobcats put the game away in the fifth. Jacob Garth singled in two runs, and Nelson launched a two-run home run to extend the lead to 12–2.
Nelson led the way with five RBIs, finishing with a triple and a home run. Garth added two hits, and the Bobcats totaled nine hits in the win.
Evan Lauer earned the victory on the mound, allowing just three hits and two runs over five innings.
"[We] just have to keep putting swings on the ball, having good at-bats," Hardwick said.
"We just go out there and play," Nelson said. "Go out there, play your game, play hard and things line up."
