GLEN ELLYN, Ill. — Bryant & Stratton baseball traveled to DuPage on Sunday following its tough loss to Elgin at home. The Bobcats were able to split the doubleheader.

Game 1: Bryant & Stratton 8, DuPage 1

Bryant & Stratton scored the first run of the game after a Brayden Pleau double brought in Jacob Garth. The Bobcats tacked on two more runs following a sacrifice fly from Ashton Kampa and a double by Jedvier Garcia.

The Bobcats scored five more runs in the third inning. Garcia doubled, scoring one run, Nick Webster singled, which brought in two more runs. Garth and Anthony Sacchetti were both hit by pitches and that brought in two runs.

Landon Raygo also helped the winning effort by pitching seven innings and surrendering four hits and one run (zero earned). He also struck out six batters and walked four.

Notes:

• Garcia went 2-for-4, with two doubles and led the team with two RBIs
• Pleau stole two bases

Game 2: DuPage 11, Bryant & Stratton 7

The second game was a different story for the Bobcats. The offense scored six runs on five hits in the second innings and that was highlighted by a single by Sacchetti that brought in two runs.

However, Bryant & Stratton was unable to hold the lead. The Chaparrals flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring eight runs on four hits to take the lead, 10-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a two-run home run given up with two outs.

Nata Montanez started on the mound for Bryant & Stratton and he surrendered six hits and six runs (five earned) over two innings. Kolden Hunter pitched three innings in relief for the Bobcats and he  gave up one hit and struck out seven. 

Sacchetti provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Bryant & Stratton Bobcats with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Brayden Pleau went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Bryant & Stratton Bobcats in hits.
