WAUWATOSA, WI (June 20, 2019) - Bryant & Stratton College-Wisconsin Athletics has hired Alex Tomter as its new head baseball coach for its NJCAA Division II scholarship-offering program.
The Wisconsin native (Brookfield, WI) comes from Kettle Moraine High School where he served as the head varsity baseball coach for one season leading the Lasers to the Regional Finals.
"With my background in player development, I believe that I can implement my coaching methods to establish a program that competes at a high-level," Tomter said. "The goal for this year is to keep moving forward in a positive direction. We want our win total to keep rising every year until we get to where we want to be."
Prior to Kettle Moraine, Tomter served as an assistant coach for Milwaukee School of Engineering (NCAA DIII) from 2015-17 where he helped the program reach a 24-22 record in 2016 and 21-21 in 2017.
In 2012, Tomter worked in the front office as a video scout for the Pittsburgh Pirates West Virginia Power and Bradenton Marauders. Along with scouting, Tomter worked directly with the instructors on player development.
Tomter marks as the second baseball coach at Bryant & Stratton and is taking over the program that launched in 2016.
"Alex has a passion for baseball and is ready to implement a winning culture at Bryant & Stratton," Associate Athletic Director Ryan Ratajewski said. "There is a lot of baseball talent in Wisconsin. We are excited to watch Alex and his staff recruit and develop the Bobcats baseball program."
Tomter will also assist with fundraising for the athletics department.
The Bobcats third season will begin in late February with the schedule to be released in Novemeber.
Bryant & Stratton College-Wisconsin offers 13 scholarship NJCAA programs as well as esports.
