RIVER GROVE, IL (May 1, 2019) - In just their third head-to-head match-up in history, the Bryant & Stratton College baseball team (9-23) fell short on the road to the Triton College Trojans by a score of 15-5 on Wednesday afternoon. The Bobcats are now 0-3 in history when going up against the Trojans as they suffered a double header sweep back in March last season (2018).

The loss drops the Bobcats to 7-15 in region play with three games remaining in the regular season.

Triton College (24-14) took an early 7-0 lead after four-innings of play as the Bobcats had a tough time containing the Trojans defensively as well as producing runs of their own.

After leaving runners stranded in scoring position in the early innings, the Bobcats got on the board in the top of the fifth when Parker Walker (So.) brought in a run on a sacrifice fly and Keanu Walkush (So.) scored from third on a passed ball.

Down 7-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth, the Trojans added on three more runs giving themselves a 10-2 advantage.

Bryant & Stratton earned those runs back in the top of the seventh after a two-run double from Kyle Taran (So.) and a ground ball RBI from Pedro Chayeb (Fr.) making it a 10-5 game.

Despite a late-push from the Bobcats, the Trojans kept their foot on the gas giving scoring three runs in the seventh and two runs in the eighth giving the Bobcats their 14th road loss of the season.

Eloy Puentes (Fr.) worked three innings on the mound allowing eight hits and five earned runs.

Offensively, the Bobcats had 12 total hits as a team. Taran finished with one hit and two RBI's while Walker added two hits and one RBI. Jose Ortiz (Fr.) and Walkush produced two hits a-piece.

Bryant & Stratton will look to rebound quickly as they host the College of DuPage Chaparrals on Friday afternoon for a tough Region IV match-up. The Chaparrals own the head-to-head series over the Bobcats as they took the double header last season.

First pitch at Trenary Field will be tossed at 2:30pm.
