MILWAUKEE Wis. (April 11, 2017) – Bryant & Stratton College is pleased to announce the signing of JaTaviah Conley from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Conley will be wearing jersey No. 32 throughout the 2017-18 Lady Bobcats Basketball season.
A 5'10" forward from Milwaukee School of Languages Conley started on the varsity basketball team all four years averaging 9.8 points per game. With outstanding athletic ability, Conley will be a key rebounder both offensively and defensively for the Bobcats this season.
Bobcats head coach Jeff Lorenz had been scouting Conley over the years and is confident that she will adapt to the college system quickly and elevate the team to the next level.
"JaTaviah is a good student and goal orientated player with a solid family support system surrounding her," Lorenz said. "She is a team first player and her personality will be a good fit with the returning players."
With tremendous size and agility Conley certainly will cause issues for opposing teams.
"She will create potential match-up issues with her ball handling ability, footwork, and physicality inside," Lorenz said. "She gives us the option to play big and still be very athletic at all positions."
A versatile player, Conley is an exceptional shooter which will allow her to fit right in with the style of offense the Lady Bobcats play.
"I expect to be the extra shooter for the Bobcats next season," Conley said.
With only a few weeks remaining as a high school student, Conley is looking forward to joining the Bryant & Stratton College family.
"I have heard nothing but positive things about Bryant & Stratton College."
Likewise the entire coaching staff is ecstatic for Conley to come on board and help the team build off of last season.
"The coaching staff is very excited to have JaTaviah become part of the Bobcat family and I look forward to working with her this upcoming season," Lorenz said.
Although Conley is a fantastic addition to the program, Lorenz will continue on the recruiting trail this offseason as he looks to maximize the team's talent for next year.
