WAUWATOSA, WI (February 10, 2019) - For the second time this season, the Bryant & Stratton College women's basketball team took the court against the Bay College Norse but failed to snatch the victory this time around as they came up short 76-58.

The Bobcats defeated the Norse at home in early January 62-56.

The loss drops Bryant & Stratton to 16-10 overall and 8-6 in region play with three games remaining in the regular season.

Freshman guards, Taynique Hawthorne and Ashley Moses led the way with 10 points a-piece followed by sophomore forward Maddy McCoy dropping nine points.

Freshman Essence Rayford and Serinity Jackson each added seven points off of the bench.

Despite early shooting struggles, the Bobcats trailed only 43-32 at the break.

"We shot poorly," Bobcats head coach Jeff Lorenz said. "There is no denying our poor shooting but we continued to battle in other areas to keep us in the game."

In the first half Bryant & Stratton shot just 29% from the field to the Norse 66.7%.

Throughout the third quarter, the Bobcats failed cut into the deficit as the Norse extended their lead to 14 (60-46) to start the final quarter.

"The effort and execution was there but we failed to get crucial stops defensively," Lorenz said.

Over the first five minutes of the fourth quarter, the Norse kept their foot on the gas as they surged out on a 12-6 run and led 72-52.

With just over a minute remaining, the Norse maintained a 20 point advantage and gave the Bobcats their 10th loss of the season.

"We will look to see how we can improve after this game and get better over the final stretch before the playoffs," Lorenz said.

The Bobcats concluded the game shooting 27.9% from the field and just 14.3% from beyond the arc.
