WAUWATOSA, WI (February 11, 2019) - The Bryant & Stratton College men's basketball team earned their eigth consecutive victory Sunday night after defeating the Concordia University Falcons (JV) 93-67.
The win improved the Bobcats to 21-7 on the season as they remain 15-2 in region play.
Leading the way for the Bobcats was freshman guard Justin Brookens dropping a team-high 26 points on 10-12 shooting from the field.
At the jump, the Bobcats came out strong taking a 12-7 lead after Jose Sosa knocked down a shot from long distance with 16 minutes left in the first half.
In search of momentum, the Falcons put together a 5-0 run taking a 14-12 lead with 14 minutes remaining before break.
Battling back-and-forth throughout the remainder of the half, Bryant & Stratton managed to gain 10 point edge at the break after a late basket from Thompson with a minute remaining.
A resounding shooting display, the Bobcats shot 62.1% from the field in the first half to the Falcons 53.8%.
Throughout the first 10 minutes of the final half, Bryant & Stratton had all of the momentum on their side as they erupted out on a 23-14 run taking a 71-52 advantage with 10 minutes left to play.
Keeping their foot on the gas, the Bobcats continued to pile on the points over the final minutes of play as sophomore guard Quentin Kendricks sealed the deal on a break away dunk with two minutes remaining to take a 86-60 lead.
Bryant & Stratton shot 56.1% from the field in the game and 44.4% from distance.
Bryant & Stratton will travel to Oglesby, IL on Friday to take on the Illinois Valley Community College Ealges.
Tip-off will take place at 7:30pm.
