Beeville, TX (March 14, 2019) - In day three of the San Antonio, TX spring break trip, the Bryant & Stratton College baseball team (1-6) dropped a pair of losses to the Coastal Bend Community College Cougars.
The Bobcats suffered a 20-0 loss in game one and a heartbreaking 4-3 loss in game two.
Game one vs Coastal Bend CC (20-0 loss)
The bats were hot for the Cougars early on as they scored 19 runs in the first three innings and in return the Bobcats failed to find a rhythem offensively producing just one hit as a team.
Starting pitcher Dominick Meyer (So.) threw 2.1 innings giving up 11 hits and seven earned runs.
Game two vs Coastal Bend CC (4-3 Loss)
In game two of the double header Bryant & Stratton got on the board first scoring two runs in the top of the third after Ryan Kalinowski (So.) doubled on a fly ball to right field.
In the top of the fourth, the Bobcats tacked on one more run to lead 3-0.
Up 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth, the Bobcats struggled defensively producing a couple costly errors which led to four runs in the inning for the Cougars to steal the win.
Kalinowski led the way for the Bobcats with two hits and two RBI's followed by David Paleo (So.) with two hits and one run.
Starting pitcher Keanu Walkush (So.) threw six innings giving up two earned runs and striking out six.
Bryant & Stratton finished the game with eight hits and 11 strikeouts.
Bryant & Stratton will conclude their spring break trip with a game against Southwestern University on Thursday.
First pitch will take place at 2:30pm.
