MILWAUKEE, Wis. (September 20, 2017) – Bryant & Stratton College has hired Lucas Henderson as the first head women's soccer coach of its Wisconsin program for the inaugural season starting in fall 2018. Henderson will lead the launch and development of the Bobcats on and off the field.

Henderson has begun recruiting student athletes for the 2018 fall semester as he looks to put the Bobcats on the map immediately.

Bryant & Stratton College belongs to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region IV.  Competing at the Division I level gives the opportunity to offer athletic scholarships to student athletes. The team is currently independent of a conference.

Bryant & Stratton College currently offers nine intercollegiate sports which includes men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, softball, baseball, women's volleyball, and men's and women's soccer.

"We are excited to have Lucas join the Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats family," Bryant & Stratton College's Athletic Director Greg Brandner said. "Henderson's knowledge and passion for the game made him stand out as the person to build a successful and competitive program."

Prior to accepting the position with Bryant & Stratton College, Henderson served as a soccer coach for Lakeville North High School, coaching at both the JV and Varsity level, helping them earn an SSC Conference title. Henderson also coached at the club level in many roles for Lakeville Soccer Club.

"This was a great fit because the staff has a passion for the program and a drive to succeed," Henderson said.
Henderson brings more than five years of coaching experience at multiple levels. He has coached at the varsity, junior varsity and club level for both men's and women's soccer. Henderson also played soccer at the collegiate and semi-professional level as a goalkeeper.

"What excites me most about this challenge is the potential this young athletics program has already displayed," Henderson said. "I am looking forward to recruiting our first class of student athletes and I am confident we have the ability to bring in a roster that can compete right away."

Henderson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire with an emphasis in Civil and Human Rights.
